Critical thinking

a  "Every match is a new opportunity. Put its failure behind and start over again." Does this apply to the Italian football team when we analyse their performance from their failure to qualify for the World Cup Football to their victory in the European Championship in these four years?

Yes, each match is a new opportunity for the team. We shouldn't think about the past performance. As saying 'Practice makes a man perfect' Italian team learns from their past history and improves in coming days. It was less than four years ago that Italy plunged to the lowest moment of its soccer history by failing to qualify for the World Cup for the first time in six decades. Now, they are the best team in Europe and on a national-record 34-match unbeaten run under Roberto Mancini, their suave coach who has won an international trophy in his first attempt to add to the country’s other European title. For the improvement of team spirit Italian coach has made great contribution. They worked hard and play with courage and confidence. Then, they become the champion of the European team.  England team is not less competitive but they got victory over them.

b. When a team plays in a home ground, it gets a huge support from the audience in the stadium. Does this support them to win the match or the players may feel pressure to win and thus lose? What do you think?

Ans: Playing game and winning the competition is very techniclal factor. In the international game bothe the team are equally strong and perfect. In this time a psychological factor is contributing to play the role on the player's performance. When a player finds huse amount of supporter in the stadium he feels a kind of security and confidence which leads his team to be a winner. In other hand the players are familiar with their ground, they may be familiar with the environment and climate of the ground which is benefit for the players. But sometimes geame may take unexpected turning point. There is the pressure of audience and pressure of opponent team may lead to faluire of the team. So these things depends on the confidence level of the player and their patience to bear the critical situation.
